About the Role

We are hiring a WordPress Developer to join our team and take the lead in delivering one of our key client’s digital transformation projects. This is a rare opportunity to work on-site at the client’s location in Bristol as part of a multi-disciplinary digital agency known for crafting world-class digital experiences for household-name brands.

This is a 2-year fixed-term role, with potential for further opportunities beyond the project based on performance and client needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will work across the full development lifecycle, contributing to both traditional and headless WordPress architectures. You’ll collaborate with designers, content specialists, and other developers to build cutting-edge, responsive websites and applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building responsive websites using Gutenberg blocks, custom post types, and taxonomies
  • Developing elegant, performant front-end interfaces and solid back-end systems
  • Integrating third-party APIs and tools for enhanced functionality
  • Debugging, testing, and refining UX and performance across browsers and devices
  • Assisting with content migration and QA processes
  • Liaising directly with clients and, when needed, delivering technical training and support

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a well-rounded WordPress Developer who combines technical expertise with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ professional experience in web development
  • Strong expertise in both front-end and back-end WordPress development
    • (HTML5, CSS/SASS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, WP REST API, JSON)
  • Experience with Headless CMS/WordPress builds
  • Confident using tools like Git, DevOps pipelines, DNS, and CDNs
  • Good understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and modern UX practices
  • Familiarity with design tools like Figma and Adobe Illustrator
  • A proactive mindset with attention to detail and quality
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
